“SINGING IS A FORM OF EXTRAVAGANCE”  by Cheri Walters For a long car trip last month, I dug out an old “Prairie Home Companion” cassette series. (You read that right -- cassettes! My husband and I own what should be the Wikipedia entry for “oxymoron” – a Prius with a cassette deck. And can I just say, when we bought the car, we were thrilled to see that little piece of vintage technology tucked into that starship dashboard, since we still had a time capsule full of playable cassettes with no place to play.) |
