Max Lyall

iLevite joins the church music world in the loss of recording artist and accompanist Max Lyall February 18.  Max had performed as a soloist with symphonies coast-to-coast  and world-wide.  He was a professor of   church music at Golden Gate Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, CA for 25 years.  He held degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University (where he was a member of the well-known Bison Glee Club), University of  Oklahoma, the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University and studied at Columbia
University and Julliard School of Music.  Max was retired from the seminary and was currently serving as associate minister of music at First Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.
We have truly lost a wonderful friend and incredible musician.  He has added so much to so many of us.

PUBLISHER NOTE:  Church music has lost far too much with the death of J. Paul Williams and Max Lyall.  These were too giant servants of our Lord.  Heaven is richer and we who remain do so in sorrow.
