A THOUGHT FOR YOUR CHOIR MEMBERS How silent the woods would be if only those birds sang who could sing best! IS THIS ANYONE YOU KNOW? This is the story of Ingebord Prior who gave of her time to sing in the choir. It seems she was doing a favor to all merely by answering the clarion call WHICH WASN'T TOO OFTEN. She never would call to let anyone know if she couldn't come because of the snow Or because of a cold or some other excuse; they tried to explain, but what was the use? SHE CAME WHEN SHE FELT LIKE IT! When she was there, 'twas quite a sight; She wore long earbobs that reflected the light, And seemed quite put out that one should expect her to pay attention or watch the director SHE SANG TO SUIT HERSELF During the preaching she twitched and she wiggled chewed her gum and whispered and giggled. And, when it was time for that one last sweet song she made a a to-do for ever so long. BEFORE SHE FINALLY FOUND THE NUMBER Now, if tghere's a moral to this little ditty it's that choir folks should look and sing pretty. For, if we look conspicuous whenever we sing folks won't undeerstand the message we bring. AND THAT WOULD BE A SHAME! (Author unknown....but the name Liz Hill comes to mind. Not sure.)
